Training & Supervision

A Thoughtful Approach to Training

Continuum Counseling & Coaching offers a small, mentorship-focused training environment for counseling interns who want meaningful clinical experience in a private practice setting.

The focus is on thoughtful supervision, real-world skill development, and helping interns grow into confident, grounded clinicians over time. This is an intentionally smaller, structured setting designed to support learning without the pressure of a high-volume environment.

With experience across community mental health, higher-acuity settings, private practice, and prior site supervision roles, the goal is to provide a training experience that feels both supportive and clear. The practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, DBT-informed approach and continues to grow through ongoing training and professional development.

Interns may also have opportunities to participate in biweekly trainings, learn about building a caseload, and contribute to future group offerings.

  • BeginBegins as an unpaid practicum placement

  • May transition into a paid, part-time internship upon completion of practicum

  • Weekly supervision provided

  • Hybrid or remote (must be located in Arizona; remote dependent on program approval)

  • Opportunities to participate in group work and program development

Internship Structure

Interns are supported in developing their clinical skills while building a consistent caseload aligned with program requirements.

Interns are expected to work toward maintaining approximately 10–12 clients per week during the internship phase.

This includes:

  • Ongoing guidance in case conceptualization and clinical decision-making

  • 1:1 supervision, group supervision, and biweekly trainings

  • Support in building and maintaining a caseload

  • Exposure to working with insurance-based clients

  • Opportunity to be featured on the practice website and counseling platforms

  • Learning the foundations of marketing and private practice development

  • Clear expectations around documentation and communication

  • A steady, structured environment that prioritizes learning without unnecessary pressure

What To Expect

Compensation

During the internship phase, compensation is provided as a per-session stipend based on completed and collected sessions.

Supervision and training opportunities are provided at no cost.

Clinical Approach

The practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, DBT-informed approach, with ongoing training and development to continue expanding clinical depth and effectiveness.

Clients present with a wide range of mental health concerns, providing interns with exposure to diverse clinical experiences within a supportive setting.
